Landon Donovan’s “Beckham Experiment” Explanation

Pretty much everyone has seen an excerpt or two from Grant Wahl’s upcoming “Beckham Experiment” that’s conveniently set to drop / sell on July 14th, but Grahame Jones of the LA Times got Landon Donovan to open up for the first time since the quotes hit the internet a week or so ago.

So I read the whole article and…. wow. Beckham should be benched. Didn’t know Donovan was the manager. Maybe Landon should have a real pissing match with Becks and give (I’d say the manager but MLS makes the calls) the old him or me. Two seconds later Donny’s off to a second tier Spanish side. He’s a pansy and a poser. I’d rather see Dempsey as the figure head for US soccer (even if he looks blazed all the time). Donovan’s time has come and gone and comments like his only show how disillusioned he is about his place in US soccer history. Get over yourself, the rest of us already have.
