John Terry to Man City Intensifies
Filed under: Chelsea, John Terry, Manchester City, Mark Hughes, Transfer NewsSo the John Terry to Manchester City saga continues. After keeping quiet up to this point about the whole thing, Man City bossman, Mark Hughes, has let his feelings be known about the whole situation.
“We would like to think we could offer John a different challenge,” Hughes said. “He’s been at Chelsea a long time and I know from my own experience as a player that when you have been with a club for a long time you get to a point when you think you need a new challenge and that a change of scenery would re-ignite certain things within you.
“It is not a question of finance, or money, it is about a different challenge, and John being at a different stage in his life and his career, and maybe that is why there hasn’t been a response [to commit himself to Chelsea] because John is seriously thinking in those terms. I went through that process myself as a player and I can understand if that is the way he is thinking.”
Mark Hughes trying to appeal to the “challenge for a player” side of John Hughes? Does this sort of thing have any sway on how JT, aka “Mr. Chelsea,” goes about making his decision to stay or go?

It’s not easy for a Londoner to move out of the South.
Wilkins did it to Manchester United, but quite a number tried and returned to their comfort zone.
But there is the thought of a new challenge and this and the extra money at a time when his career will start to wind down could persuade this man to try the new offer. He will have England coleagues in the area, and an ex-team mate in the same club, so it may not be so difficult a decision.
However, I would hate to see him leave the club, but would wish him all the best if he did go, even though one of my mates is a City fan and is laughing his head off.
