Thank you to everyone who submitted a comment to win a jersey. The responses were incredible and we wish we could have chosen more of you. Congrats to Steve and Roger for winning the jerseys. We definitely wanna see some pictures of what you guys do with the jerseys. We’ll make sure and get another contest up soon.
To kick off the 2009 World Football Challenge that starts this weekend, we are giving away a Chelsea jersey and scarf, and a Club America jersey. How can you not be excited about the games that will be played around the US over the next week? We’ll be starting it off at the Club America v Inter Milan game at Stanford on Sunday. Let us know if you’re going to be there.

Chelsea
I’m an insane Chelsea supporter and my best friend is a mad United fan. His 21st birthday is the 5th of August, and I’ve arranged a Chelsea-themed weekend celebration in Vegas with the boys (all Chelsea fans) for him as payback for spoiling the results of the 2nd leg of last season’s Champions League semi-final v. Liverpool and telling me John Terry had already signed for City yesterday. I’d like the new Chelsea home shirt (you notice it’s a bit Robocop-ish?) to welcome him to Vegas at the airport and make the weekend fantastically embarassing. Oh, I’ve also arranged with his girlfriend to convert his entire bedroom to something you’d see in a Chelsea brochure while we’re gone: duvet, pillowcases, stuffed animals, the lot!

I want the Chelsea jersey because I am going to present the jersey to Jose Mourinho (AKA the Special One) because it is only a matter of time that he leaves Inter and joins up with his former club ( I mean how many managers has Chelsea had since him??? 3, 4 I cant keep count. ) Anyway since the Special One always hints at his return on his new/old show Special One TV, its only bound to happen. Big Boss will have to make it happen sooner or later. Shut up Sven!

So I’ve been follower of your blog for about 2 months now and you have put up some amazing articles and videos (like the video where Zidan shows up at the soccer camp. How cool would that be??). I am HUGE supporter of Chelsea ever since I visited my English cousins in London back in 2006. Since then, I follow Chelsea FC religiously.
During the Champions League final, I took a white shirt and wrote CHELSEA FC on the front and WE ARE THE BOYS IN BLUE on the back. I’m in high school and the majority of my classmates are Man U scum…er i mean supporters. They went nuts after the match and were taunting me for about a week. But I stayed strong (like TRUE Blues). The jersey and scarf would mean the world to me as I would now be able to watch the games like a true Chelsea fan and rub it in their faces when Chelsea wins the Premiership. I’m also trying to get my parents to let me drive down to Southern California (I’m from Northern) so I can watch my club and cheer my guts out. And how can a true supporter show up at the match without a jersey and scarf?

I’m attending the Club America vs. Inter match and doesn’t really care which jersey if “win”, but if have to choose, it’d be Chelsea just to also get the scarf.
I would like the America jersey please - My best bud in town is Mexican and is an ardent America supporter. Also, oddly enough, his girfriend is a legitimate Bimbo. However, he will not receive the jersey from me. Instead I will always wear it around him in order to mock Mexican teams whenever they lose to US clubs in Interleague play (which should be often).

I would like to have the Chelsea jersey and scarf so that I can make a shrine in my house to all Chelsea fans that having a rich owner who weasels himself into everything can’t buy you all the success you wish for, nor can it help you top the Red Devils. I will also be creating a shrine for Man City very soon, I think the Man City shrine will be much much larger though.
Club America - one of my best friend’s is a Chivas fan, of course a huge rival, and we can never quite seem to support the same teams. He always seems to find some sort of edge to get on my nerves when we’re talking soccer - usually gets our other friends to support his side. I know if I had a Club America shirt and if I show up this upcoming fall semester with it on, he’ll definitely agree to defeat.

I will present the Chelsea jersey to my son in memory of his grandfather. He is coming to the game to help move his grandparents’ furniture. The game will be played on the day after what have been his grandpa’s 85th birthday.
I want the Club America jersey because I’m an American. I love the USMNT!
If you saw fit to give it to me, the Chelsea jersey would mean the world to me, AND you could help yourself at the same time.
You see, I was very into soccer as a boy, but had fallen away from the game for a long time. Over the past season, however, I have come back to the game, partially and passionately through the USMNT, and partially and passionately for the club team I chose to support, Chelsea.
After some recent events however, I am in danger of once again becoming a soccer apostate. The roller coaster performance of the USMNT constantly leaves me with questions, and even though we scaled the heights of defeating Spain and thrashing Brazil for a half, it was followed by a plummeting performance in the second half.
Also, and far more scarring, was Chelsea’s embarrassing behavior after their Champions league defeat. While this behavior was mainly perpetrated by a few individuals (cough, Drogba, cough), it was still damaging to my faith in the nobility of a footballer.
So, after these sorts of events, I am in danger of forsaking Association football, and throwing my passion into the less beautiful American version.
If I were to find myself the owner of the best uniform and scarf in the EPL, however, I am certain I would be rendered unable to watch any other sport until the items were threadbare from years and years of impassioned supporting of my once (and hopefully future) beloved Blues, and great and honorable players like John Terry, and the great new manger Carlo Ancelotti.
Also, I am a student of marketing and graphic design, and I think that all the Bumpy Pitch stuff is just fantastic. I have been coveting the Bethlehem Steel shirt for some time now, and since there is no such thing as a free lunch, I might just be compelled to buy it if I were to be given my very own Chelsea shirt…just sayin’. And I gotta respect a good giveaway that lets people voice their passion as a way to get some hits and build a bit of brand awareness and loyalty. Well done.

I’d like the Club America jersey because who doesn’t want a shirt that says “BIMBO” on it and it might get me mad play with the honies on those soap operas they got down there. And like in the real world of football none of the big stars want to be seen in a Chelsea jersey (no offense anybody) so why would I want to be seen in one.
I live in Hudson County NJ which which has a huge latino population. When I play fusbal with them down at the fusbal pitch they make fun of my jerseys. They think my Man City, Arsenal and English National team jerseys are ghey. Therefore I would like the Club America Jersey so I can score goals and look good at the same time. Please help me out O’DUB!
I would like the Chelsea jersey because Blanco once played for America and I can’t wear a jersey of a team he once played for.
I would like the new Chelsea kit, so that I will be protected in case projectiles are flying at my chest. Not enough of my clothing is shaped like gladiator armor.

Soccer (specifically Club America), Bimbo’s, and Coke (in that order) are my passions in life. So basically, I am this jersey, and this jersey is me.
Seriously though, having a Club America jersey would be fantastic, I follow them every chance I get and I would be ecstatic if I had a jersey to wear around and show my club pride. They are the best club with the best and proudest tradition on this continent, bar none.
Soccer is a great way to bring people together, and it would be much easier to come together with fellow Club America fans if I had this sweet jersey on when I see Inter get a beat-down next week instead of a lame yellow t-shirt. Keep up the good work on the site!
With the Club America shirt people who don’t know me would think I have a low IQ. And I am a fan of lowered expectations.

I’ve become a big Blanco fan since his arrival in Chicago. Thus I’ve been looking to get a Club America jersey at some point. I also feel that following teams in concacaf is more important than whoring out for Europe at every opportunity. FMF produces some great teams and its time the English speaking soccer fan recognizes that.

I coach a U10 boys team out of a small town in Northern Cali. Every month I hold a Jugglers Challenge amongst the team to promote and encourage their touch, jugglling skills and playing with a ball outside of practice and adult interference.
This would be a great prize to compete for. Just about all my players are Mexican and most of them are either Chivas or America fans so I’ll choose the America jersey if I win.

Would like the America jersey… for one, I wouldn’t be caught dead with anything Chelsea, and I’ve got a lot of friends who support America. This would get me major cool points with them.
Well, the Chelsea top is XL so not interested in making it into a dress and the Club America shirt is a Club America shirt, so that’s not cool. Most of the people writing in are from California so they don’t need a scarf they just wear it to be hip…like Dunny. I’m in Denver, scarves are more functional that fashionable, and I only have one that I got from Kohl’s…and people make fun of it. So if the scarf decides to declare its indepence from the jersey, I would be a good adoptive parent. I would even let the jersey visit, but only every other weekend.
i want the club america jersey because its my dads hometown team and even though i dont have as much interest in the mexican league as i do in MLS, i think it would make his day to see me in this jersey.

Because i Believe in supporting teams that have cultural or regional ties to ones self. As a third generation mexican-american i love my San Jose Earthquake and the USMNT, but i can’t and wont let go of America.!

I would like to win the Club America jersey. I just went to the Xango Cup with RSL v. Club America and sat on the front row. I went with a Mexican friend of mine that loves Club America and he let me borrow one of his older America jerseys. It was awesome. I live in SLC and a lot of Mexicans wondered who the white dude was sportin the America jersey. It was epic, you should have seen the looks.
I just want to relive that again and again. I think it is good for those with Mexican heratige to see a caucasian wearing one of their beloved club jerseys.

I assume that a soccer-playing robot would be great at soccer (since that is what he was programmed to do). After every goal I score while wearing this jersey, I vow to do the robot dance.

Club America
Being a soccer fan in Australia, it’s extremely hard to follow Central/South American football due to the lack of media coverage. Finally I found this website around a year ago, and I’ve been able to watch the regular highlights that you post…making this my number one source for Latin American football. My favourite league is the Mexican league, so it’d be so great if I could please win the jersey!

I’d love to win the Club America jersey to give to a friend’s 4 year old boy who had me rolling on the ground the other day with his impression of Blanco’s famous goal celebration. He is a huge Club America & Chicago Fire (read: Blanco) fan who was extremely disappointed the other day that he couldn’t go see his team play because his parents weren’t able to take the night off.
I’d love to win the Chelsea gear!!! Can’t wait to see them play Inter Milan!!!! Too bad Chelsea hasn’t signed anyone HUGE so far!

I want the Club America jersey if for nothing other than to annoy all of my Hispanic neighbors with that rad kit. It reminds me of the sick Barca alternate from two years ago. Also, I’m a ginger in NYC and this would REALLY stand out. I would totally tell them that my friends at The Original Winger hooked me up. I would also use this as a substitute goalkeeper jersey in my coed league and that would be awesome. Also, my wife thinks that Bimbo is a funny sponsor. How’d I do?
I want the Club America jersey to give to my wife. Even though she speaks Spanish and knows what their shirt sponsor is, she still thinks it would be hysterical to run around in a shirt that says ‘bimbo; on it.
Living in the remote part of Canada means that its hard to come by Chelsea shirts. So I’ve been trying to win one in a contest for years. This sad excuse for a hobby won’t end until someone such as yourself puts me out of my misery.
My last Chelsea shirt unfortunately went through a major shrinkage and my younger brother refuses to wear it because of his support for Celtic despite my efforts to convert him.
I’d also love the scarf, I’d be wearing it more than the actual shirt here in the cold north. This town needs some blue and I’m tired of seeing Manchester Utd glory hun..er…supporters.

I want the Chelsea jersey because my home flooded on April 28th and I have not been able to access any of my soccer gear as it is all being stored while my home is repaired. I have been staying with friends the last 2 1/2 months. I would hate to have to watch the game nekid. Come on…help a girl out!

My friends and I were planning a trip to Europe, and while the were planning on visiting museums I insisted that we go to England and see a Chelsea match, and if there was no matches that we’d atleast tour Stamford Bridge. When our Europe trip fell through I saw that Chelsea would be coming to the US this summer. That is why I bought tickets to the game as soon as they went on sale, and told my friend to keep this summer open, I was dragging her on a road trip.
Tomarrow at 5am we are leaving to drive from Ventura, Ca to Seattle, Wa just to watch Chelsea play. I gave up my front row AC Milan vs. Galaxy ticket, which was free, to drive to Seattle to see my second favorite team.
If only I’d known that Chelsea would announce a date here in LA at the Rose bowl before I’d bought my tickets at Qwest field. I wish I could make it home in time to see that game too, but now I’m broke.

I want the Chelsea jersey because I am a huge Chelsea fan amid all my friends and coworkers who are Man U or Aresenal supporters. Soccer is everything to me, few things will cause me to miss a game. My friends even make jokes how if they wanted to be me for Halloween all they’d have to do is wear a soccer shirt because they make up half my wardrobe.

I want the America jersey because I’ve attended dozens of Cruz Azul (Ole Ole Ole Azul!) and America game with my cousin in DF and regardless of how much i hate them. It would be a great birthday present to send him.

My hope is to win the Club America Jersey because I am one of the people that Temo (Blanco) called a Drunk last year and I think it would be fun to soak the jersey in tequila and wring shots out of it in Section 8. Also a wet shirt should be able to help from getting flare burns! BLANCO IS MY DRINKING BUDDY!!!

I got to get that America jersey. I have been a die-hard fan ever since i went to one of their games ‘94. I am always trying to go to any of their games in the U.S. and I’m for sure going to that game in Dallas the 26th. It would be really cool to wear the jersey to the game. Even though I go for America I have never bought a jersey, I’ve only gotten regular T-shirts with America on them. It would be really cool to get my first jersey this way and go to the game wearing it and celebrating after they win Chelsea.
I’d like a Chelsea jersey because I am flying from Dallas to the game in Baltimore for Friday’s game and flying back Sunday to Dallas for the Sunday game. Not to mention those new uni’s are pretty slick! And the blue matches my eyes….

Decided to try and make some extra money by keeping score at some college baseball summer league games the past few weeks. Tonight, even though I parked plenty far away, my back windshield got hit by a foul ball and shattered.

I woul like the america jersy because this became like my second love even before i knew what love was and also america is a big part of my life some times I rather see america play than my national team mexico that happen to me last time when they were playing inter. I change channels to see the team of my life beat inter, America is on my blood, me and my friends get together to watch america play every single time even if theres somethin us to do we never missed a single game and I would like to have this jersey to show them our real love for the club, plus it will be a really special gifs coming from you guys … Thank you
i would like a Club America jersey for my husband. He is the most wonderful husband, father and club america fan. He was kind enough to take me to Atlanta (a 5 hour drive each way) to both the Mexico and Club America games and it was better than our honeymoon. I really enjoyed sharing his passion with him.
