A Day with Nutrilite…

dsc_4901-1.jpgYesterday, I had an unbelievable day. I went to go represent The Original Winger at a presentation by a company called Nutrilite. Nutrilite is a company that sells vitamins, minerals, protein shakes, energy bars, and sports drinks that help you to achieve “optimal health.” The day started with driving out to Long Beach to meet several other bloggers from around the country at the Hotel Maya. Then, we all got on a bus that was headed to the Nutrilite Center for Optimal Health. When we got there, Nutrilite put on this huge presentation about what they believed in. They believe in organic farming and having all of their supplements being plant-based instead of being man made. They want everyone to have a life “the way nature intended it to be.” Personally, I learned a lot about taking care of my body and how important it is to eat and drink the right things at the right times to improve my performance on the pitch. From now on I am starting to be more professional about my nutrition. Then, Nutrilite gave everyone a fitness test!! They measured everyone’s bone density, flexibility, blood pressure, grip strength, and body fat. It was awesome. Nutrilite has a special relationship with AC Milan. AC Milan has one of the best health and fitness facilities in the world. Nutrilite helps all of the AC Milan players with their health and fitness. They do special fitness tests on all of the players and then give them reports on what they need to improve on!! Also, Marta, the world’s best women’s soccer player, came and spoke about Nutrilite. I actually got to sit down with her, one on one, and ask her a question. I asked her, “what she does physically, mentally, or emotionally before or after a game that separates her from all of the other players?” She started to tear up a bit and said that “she prays and that she thinks about how far she has come as a soccer player and that she has been doing her best all of her life and she wants to keep doing her best.” She seemed like a great and emotional person. So I haven’t even got to the best part. After we left the Nutrilite center, we ate a great lunch and they gave us a big bag with some of their products. They included a soccer ball, a water bottle, a jacket, and a new AC Milan jersey!! The bus was headed for a really nice hotel in Marina del Rey where the AC Milan players were staying!!! We all walked into the hotel and I was so excited to meet all of the players that I look up to. I don’t know how to put the feelings I had into words when I met Seerdorf, Ambrosini, Zambrotta, and none other than Ronaldinho. They all signed our jerseys and took pictures. It was mind-blowing. I actually spoke a little Dutch with Seedorf. I think he was surprised by that. I felt that the Milan players had a certain aura about them, but I also know that they are regular people like me. After that, we all went to the Galaxy-AC Milan match. We got to sit in this special booth with Marta and there was a bunch of great food. I enjoyed watching the game and seeing Seedorf, Ronaldinho, and Inzaghi work their magic. The game ended up being 2-2. On the way home I was thinking about how Nutrilite connected everything that we did today. I realized how they first explained how their products work and the importance of it. Then they introduced us to the athletes who used their products. And then they showed us the athletes in action. Nutrilite worked hard to get their message across to myself and the other bloggers they invited. They were very successful!!! It was an amazing day and I am so grateful that I had this wonderful experience.
