“We are pleased to reward its vibrant soccer community with the week of festivities that surround this marquee event.”

The date, opponent and venue for the event — either Robertson Stadium, home to the Dynamo, or the much bigger Reliant Stadium — will be announced at a later date.

A reward is exactly what Houston fans and the hometown deserved, Dynamo midfielder and MLS All-Star Stuart Holden said.

“I think it’s great for the city and a testament to the support of our fans,” said Holden, a Houston-area product. “And a credit to the success of the franchise over the last couple of years.””
