Will Nani Finally Step Out of CRon’s Shadow?

I have to be honest and say that I have never been a huge Nani fan. Dude has bags of potential, and is clearly a very good player, but he always seemed to try and do too much. After seeing his goal against Chelsea over the weekend, I started wondering if Ronaldo going to Real Madrid is going to be a very good thing for Nani.

When you watch Nani play, it’s impossible not to make comparisons to CRon in terms of style of play. Clearly Nani is not on Ronaldo’s level, but when I would watch them on the field together, it always seemed like he was the little brother to Ronaldo. Always trying to do as much as him, but having limited success in living up to big bro. So with Ronaldo in Madrid now, does this free up Nani to be himself without the shadow of CRon looming over his shoulder? Could this be the move that allows Nani to grow into the player that all the potential suggests? My guess is yes…
