While it’s been talked about for the better part of a month and a half, England International Joleon Lescott’s perspective move to Manchester City has again been denied after Everton head coach David Moyes immediately rejected the 27 year old’s written Transfer Request.

The England international has been the subject of two rejected bids from City this summer, for £15m and £18m, and a third offer of around £22m is expected to follow the defender’s latest move to increase his salary from £40,000 to £80,000-a-week.

“Joleon Lescott put in a written transfer request this morning which I immediately rejected,” Moyes told the Liverpool Echo. “We will continue to work with him as we appreciate his many qualities as a player. I have said all along that I have no intention of selling my best players. Joleon is simply not for sale.”

Lescott first told Moyes he wanted to leave Everton last Monday but was informed there was no possibility of a sale in this transfer window. The defender received a rapturous reception from Evertonians during Friday’s friendly against Malaga at Goodison Park, and afterwards Moyes reiterated that the 27-year-old would be staying.
