Oprah comes in at numero uno with $275 made at the age of 55, and the top 3 is rounded out by George Lucas at 65 pulling in $170 and Steven Spielberg making an easy $150 at 62 years old. The money doesn’t trip me out as much as how old some of these folks are.

Peep out the rest of the top 10 including a 50 year old Madonna after the jeeezy……

No. 1 Oprah Winfrey - 55 - $275m

Though viewership for the self-made billionaire’s flagship chat fest, The Oprah Winfrey Show, continues to erode, her earning power remains resilient. In addition to Winfrey’s monthly magazine, she has a three-year, $55 million contract with XM Satellite Radio. Her Harpo production company, which spawned the television careers of Dr. Phil and Rachael Ray, will introduce a show hosted by Dr. Mehmet Oz this fall. Months later, she will roll out the lifestyle-themed Oprah Winfrey Network in partnership with Discovery Communications.No. 2 George Lucas - 65 - $170m

With help from the fourth installment of Indiana Jones, of which he split a large portion of the back-end receipts with director Steven Spielberg and actor Harrison Ford, Lucas grossed $170 million this year. A healthy chunk of his earnings come from his ownership rights in all things Star Wars, including a new animated movie and TV show, The Clone Wars.

No. 3  Steven Spielberg - 62 - $150m

The director had a tough time finding a home for his DreamWorks studio after bolting from parent company Viacom in October 2008. He finally landed at Disney four months later. The struggle didn’t hurt his earnings, though. Thanks in part to the latest Indiana Jones movie, of which he split a large portion of the back-end receipts with executive producer George Lucas and actor Harrison Ford, Spielberg brought home $150 million this year.

No. 4 Madonna - 50 - $110m

The queen of pop’s Hard Candy album tour was the top-grossing international tour of 2008, bringing in $280 million on 58 concerts in 17 countries. Keeping the 50-year-old star’s name in the papers: a reported love affair with baseball slugger Alex Rodriquez, the end of her eight-year marriage to director Guy Ritchie and trouble with her latest attempt to adopt a second African baby.

No. 5. Jerry Bruckheimer- 63 -$100 million

The three CSI shows mint money for Bruckheimer in syndication, but he also does well with his movies. Even without a Pirates of the Caribbean installment, he earned $100 million this year. The blockbuster master is striking gold this summer with G-Force, a family film about some really smart guinea pigs.

No. 6 Jerry Seinfeld - 55 - $85 million

The comedian continues to cash in on the syndication rights for Seinfeld more than a decade after the show ended its run on NBC. He brings in millions more doing stand-up on the road. He was reportedly paid $10 million to star in a Microsoft commercial alongside Bill Gates; the marketing campaign was eventually ditched.

No. 7 Phil McGraw - 58 - $80 million

Though his syndicated show, Dr. Phil, shed a quarter of its audience over the last 12 months, the relationship guru still lures millions of fans to his program, speeches and array of books. Several episodes devoted to octuplet mom Nadya Suleman grabbed headlines and blogosphere buzz for the host.

No. 8 Bruce Springsteen - 59 -$70 million

The New Jersey rock idol had the fourth highest-grossing tour in 2008, bringing in $166 million on sales of 1.6 million tickets worldwide. He capped his tour by headlining the Super Bowl halftime show. Springsteen signed an exclusive deal with Wal-Mart to sell a greatest hits album; he later called the deal “a mistake.”

No. 8 Howard Stern - 55 -$70 million

Stern’s Sirius Satellite Radio deal continues to pay him $100 million annually (less the production costs for the show, which come out of his pocket). The veteran shock jock has threatened to retire when his five-year contract expires at the end of 2010, telling one caller on his show that “this is [his] swan song.

No. 10 Harrison Ford - 67 - $65 million

Until last year, Ford had largely stepped out of the limelight, appearing in only four films since 2000. Then came the fourth installment of the Indiana Jones franchise in May 2008. The movie grossed $787 million at the worldwide box office; Ford split a large chunk of the movie’s back-end receipts with director Steven Spielberg and executive producer George Lucas.
