A Monday on the Links
Filed under: Family, LifestyleGot a call from Rizzle today that his Aunt Sue was in town, and that Verne had an appearance at a charity golf tournament not too far from the crib. So I headed out to link and catch up with some friends.
Verne and the crew were posted at hole 14 right by this drive through tent. I have never seen something like this tent and what was going on inside on a golf course. More on that in a minute…
This girl was just chillin and was quite happy to pose for a picture.
Free massages were provided, so I had to partake. When in Rome…Rizzle decided this was a good time to steal my camera and get this picture why I was in a massage induced slumber.
So the folks in charge of the tournament let us use this golf cart to cruise around in. This was not your average golf cart…camo paint job, oversized tires and it was officially dubbed “The Work Horse.”
With the golf cart sorted, Rizzle and I went on an exploration mission. First up, a giant hamburger on one of the putting greens. Reminded us of those old Larry Bird v Michael Jordan commercials. Off the lettuce and into the cup.
Next stop, a drive through made of misters to cool off. This little contraption was very well thought out…
Quack Quack
This dude was determined that he got in the picture of the food he was cooking. I understand, you want to own what you do. I didnt sample one of his creations, but everyone on the golf course seemed to like his BBQ skills.
Back to meet up with the crew, and there’s that tent. Gotta have a go for ourselves so we drive through. Inside is basically a drive through bar and a group of about 10 girls dancing and partying. Basically a mini night club on a golf course. I think this type of feature needs to be incorporated by golf courses on a permanent basis, not just for private tournaments. Just sayin…
As we are heading out everyone piles into a “shuttle” golf cart, and Ray and I follow in the Work Horse. About halfway up this big hill, the shuttle dies and the Work Horse springs into action. We had to push the shuttle up the hill. Never done that on a golf course, but then again, I haven’t gotten a massage, driven through a mini nightclub or seen a giant inflatable hamburger on a putting green, so the end was very fitting…
