Wow. Made me sick to my stomach. But it’s kind of amazing this sort of thing doesn’t happen more often.

I’m a little light headed after that one.

He did it on purpose. He had a vendetta against that guy from seasons past

wish there was more strick penalties in sports for injuries like this. should be an eye for an eye for the most malicious hits, you do something henious, you get sidelined as long the other guy is.

damn… witsel gets good in fifa… it sickens me to see this kind of thing, but the reality is that it can happen to anyone at anytime…

whoa…That Stomping follow through was full of malicious intent. What kind of human being looks to purposefully maim/cripple someone.

I feel the same way Steve T. Things like that will make a scout from a bigger team think twice about signing you. He may just stay in Belgium for his entire career…I wouldn’t pick him up after seeing what he’s capable of. He’s sick.

This man should be suspended for life, it is obvious that this was intentional!

slow motions can be deceiving. i saw a regular speed video and it does not look malicious at all.

  13. Posted by: Eight on Sep 1, 2009 at 8:35 am

That half hop before the tackle was to generate power for his leading foot, he goes in cleat up…in slow motion, does that look like a move someone would make to gain possession in a 50\50 challenge? I don’t know if intentionally meant to break his leg, but I highly doubt he was making an honest play for the ball.

The title implies it was Witsel’s leg, where in fact it he himself who intenionally did it. No doubt of the intent – notice the slight jump before he comes down with full force – he meant it alright. Lotta people will remember that and take his number; next time before he has a chance, he may have his leg broken. Wasyl is finished, they say at least 12 mos., but he will never get over it. And he was a starter on the Polish Nat’l team. What a shame!

Incredible and horible! It is the result of seeking to win with all possibilities, it is a shame!

Complete disgrace, a coward’s tackle, he stamps and looks away. In this situation when it is obviously premeditated, the offending player should be banned until the injured player recovers. I think Witsel will get a hard time after this and deservedly so. Arsehole
