“Del Potro, 21 on was wearing a Boca jersey with the inscription “U.S. Open champion 2009″ as he walked on the field and booted a few footballs towards the stands.

Just before the walk of honor, he visited the dressing rooms and met the players, giving extra praise to Matin Palermo, the biggest goal scorer in Boca’s history. He also took photos with the team before the game began.

Del Potro defeated Swiss tennis giant Roger Federer 3-6, 7-6 (5), 4-6, 7-6 (4) and 6-2 on Monday, winning his first ever Grand Slam tournament.”
