Mixed martials arts fighter Quinton “Rampage” Jackson confirmed Tuesday on his  web site that he’ll be playing B.A. Baracus in the upcoming “A-Team” movie. That job, he wrote, led him to retire from fighting.

Also a factor, Jackson wrote, is the potential for injury as a member of the Ultimate Fighting Championship series.

“My body has been getting so many different injuries that I wont be able to fight until my forties & neither do I want to fight that long. So I feel like my second career could be in jeopardy.. so I’m done fighting … So I’m hanging it up. I’m gonna miss all my loyal fans but hopefully they’ll follow me to my new career & I will gain more loyal fans along the way.”

“The A-Team” also stars Liam Neeson as team leader “Hannibal” Smith, Bradley Cooper as “Faceman” Peck, Sharlto Copley as “Howlin’ Mad” Murdock and Jessica Biel as Peck’s former lover.
