“Puck Fachuca” - Photos From Houston

BTW, upon seeing my Bumpy Pitch Eye Chart, she mentioned she was a proud owner of the Bumpy Pitch “74″ Los Angeles Aztecs shirt.
More photos after the jump…
Stadium lights in the distance….always gets me fired up. I went to college at University of Houston. Before they renovated Robertson, there used to be a track around the field and US Olympian Carl Lewis trained here. Coming out of class you could watch him run.
Someday, the Dynamo will move to a new soccer-specific-stadium and leave this crumbling old warhorse of a place - but Robertson does have a certain moldy history that will be missed.
The Texian Army getting excited just before kickoff with impressive banners. Pregame tailgate started at 4pm for a 9pm kickoff, which is nice.
A few minutes before gametime with a late arriving crowd. Nice night, about 80 degrees, probably 80-20 Dynamo to Pachuca fans. The field looked a little ravaged. The University of Houston football team beat Texas Tech in a huge game on Saturday night and is now ranked #12 in the country, which is shocking to anyone who follows UH. It’s great news, but the field is pretty rough for the Dynamo.
Everyone knows AEG is finalizing details for the Dynamo to have their own stadium in downtown Houston (perhaps sharing with Texas Southern University football). Meanwhile, the rumor at UH is that Robertson Stadium will eventually be demolished and turned into a parking lot and a new 50k seat stadium for the football team will go up next to Highway 45 South.
Dig the lion theme here and the cocky tagline. When you win two MLS Cups you can make banners like this and people don’t laugh.

Feeling every bit of the 5 hour tailgate today.
