Cock n’ Bull in Santa Monica, not on the list but the bar is telling people they will carry it – $15 cover. As for fault, the rights are controlled by the Honduran football association and were offered by the current provider to ESPN and others, but according to them the price was too high. Lets hope the distributor eats it on the deal and we never see it again.

Granted I know nothing about the innerworkings of soccer broadcasting, it seems to me that the blame lies with ESPN, FSC, etc. for allowing themselves to be outbid. I understand not wanting to overpay the Honduran federation for the rights, but I seriously doubt this CopaTV organization had more money to spend than the networks. Continued growth requires continued exposure, and this is an enormous step backwards in that regard. USA-Mexico on mun2 was a similar situation, and from a broadcasting perspective I thought it was a disaster. Not only did we have to listen to Marcelo Balboa (kill me), the network actually misspelled Charlie Davies’ last name (He was ‘Charlie Davis’ on their starting lineup graphic). A minor error, sure, but still unforgivable.
