I headed over to the LA offices for Nike to talk soccer, lifestyle and my preference for the Air Max 90’s over the 95’s. I gotta say the Nike offices are right up my alley in terms of design and layout, so I felt pretty comfortable hanging out, sharing stories and taking pictures.

I have a thing against confined spaces, so the open layout worked well for me. And pretty much in every one of these cubes, there were Nike kicks everywhere.

These Tiempos were tucked neatly away in Jacie’s office. The panda in the background completes the picture.

I could talk about soccer in the US all day, and that’s pretty much what we did. It’s hard to have this topic of conversation without mentioning Landon Donovan. And Landon was very well represented in the office.

Wait what?! A Nike sneaker showroom? beans FTW!

You may or may not be aware that Nike does quite a bit in the community building sports courts. Pretty cool initiative and some incredible community sports courts have been built as a result. But to make this even better, they use old sneakers and shoes, recycle them and use this as the building blocks for the surfaces of the sporting locations. If you see one of these recycle bins in a store somewhere, get involved and donate some of your old kicks. Your old shoes might help provide the training ground for a future professional athlete. Can’t argue with that.

It’s always good to connect with folks that that share a similar passion for the same things that you do, that are doing something everyday to make a difference and at the end of the day are just good people.
