I think US Soccer should pay at least part of his wages while injured. They don't pay any players' salary, but they get to make all sorts of cash when the Americans play in front of the home fans. I'm a season ticket holder for RSL and my deeply discounted, cheapest tickets in the stadium to the El Salvador game were $38 bucks...almost triple a normal MLS game. After the fees that are added on, the ticket ends up costing like $45 or $46 bucks, which is more than triple the normal cost. Where does all that money go? The least they can do is take responsibility for players hurt while on US Soccer time.

My two (strike that) three cents

International clubs should have to pay the wages of players injured during internationals regardless of the PT they get at the club, now he won't even be an option for the next few months. However, on 15 January 2008 FIFA and UEFA agreed that they would pay compensation for international injuries and selection after a World Cup or European Championship. So don't worry, someone other than AC will pay "Gooch's" wages for the next few months.

In return for this agreement the G-14 (football's equivelent of the G8 though for some reason Fulham were not part of it) agreed to disband.

Can someone please tell me what a Gooch is in the USA? In the UK it is that grey area between your * and your balls.

on a side note...if he wanted PT then he should have come to fulham

You pay the fella's wages while he is injured, pay for his treatment but national teams don't have to do a thing............. Newcastle got a pay out from England when he got hurt at the world cup, Milan should likewise get a pay out.

If Gooch was playing, I could see him being upset, but Milan was already paying Gooch to sit on the bench. Now, they are paying Gooch to sit on the bench. He's just looking for free publicity.
