Wilson Palacios Ordered To Stay In Honduras Extra 24 Hours
Filed under: Honduras, TottenhamTottenham Hotspur midfielder Wilson Palacios is set to miss this weekends Premiership match at Portsmouth after Honduras leader Roberto Micheletti kept the 25 year old back an extra 24 hours to celebrate their country’s first World Cup qualification since 1982.

Micheletti seized power four months ago after a military coup and has used that muscle to keep Palacios in his native country this weekend - to celebrate his country reaching the World Cup Finals.
Honduras beat El Salvador while Costa Rica could only draw 2-2 at the US, thus sending Micheletti’s men to South Africa next year.
To commemorate the first time they have done so since 1982 - when they just missed out on making the second stage - the national team were ordered to stay home and celebrate.
