hopefully, kansas city, columbus, new england, houston, dc, will make something like red bull arena. Close to the field, real soccer stadiums. And at the same time maybe rebrand and no more high school stadiums or baseball stadiums

oh and by the way, how come every MLS SSS does not have a serious looking bech for the subs, at least at nice seats like some stadiums have. They have those crappy metal seats for the subs, and if Red Bull is going all out, they should of done the subs area like Manchester United has theirs, its unique and Red Bull would of been the first and probably the only team in the USA to have the cool unique seating for the subs.

they all look alike……….. WTF…….people get paid for real stuff but it looks like he does not know the soccer culture. Even mexico is coming with better stadiums, they have 4 new stadiums coming and wow, they are all different. Even Santos de Torreon league 1 in mexico made a Home Depot Center, yes, a Home Depot center, it look so similar to it but just better.

Reid, I assume you are local to Foxboro and are not happy with Patriot Place. Say what you want, but the Kraft's know how to make money. The problem is the state and the fact that nothing can get done. (with the exception of some roads, Kraft built that stadium with his own money). If they can turn the Patriots, one of the worst franchises in football history, into what they are today, I am going to put my trust in them.

Matt M - it would be much harder for bob kraft to ruin the land around a stadium if there was one closer to Boston

This is a great article. Really insightful. You are so right that these stadiums are shaping the way we view the game in America. I live up in Boston and am DYING for the Revs to build a stadium like the Red Bulls in or near the city. Right now they play 40 minutes away in a behemoth Gilette. The atmosphere is terrible. If they built something in close to Boston (they have had proposals for this) the crowd would be awesome. You would have a mix of suburban families, a massive amount of immigrants that would adopt the team, and young crowd of college kids and professionals. I am going to do some more reporting on this and add an update to my blog soon. Thanks!
