This is Sepp Blatter's way of dealing with things. They threaten the yanking of a world cup spot just so the issue will be quickly dropped. Any "interference" or investigation into a football federation by a local politician or congress is considered foul play by FIFA...you know, the same organization that is always preaching "transparency"? They know that outside investigators would unearth all kinds of the bribes, under the table payments, and shady backroom deals would come to the surface.

Until the powerful footballing nations stand-up to this corrupt organization as one united front, nothing will ever change...Sepp, Jack, etal will continue to throw their weight around and if you so much as look at them funny, they will dissolve your football federation or take away your contries world cup slot. What a farce...

OMG, please let me live to see the day when Sepp Blatter and Jack Warner are frogmarched to prison.

This would of been the worst case scenario. If Rangers had not of retired their cause from the court, then the ANFP (Chilean Federation) would of disaffiliated the club. This procedure would of come through a vote from all the presidents of the clubs in both D1 and D2. Once again, disqualification would of been de worst case scenario, only if the Federation would of supported Rangers cause or if they wouldn't disaffiliate them.

FIFA does not want the state to interfere with matters of football. Although a club has the ability to seek a legal resolution via a state mandated court, FIFA will disaffiliate the Federation that has the participating club.

Isn't how a league deals with its problems it's own business? Why is FIFA pressuring one club to drop litigation by holding a whole country hostage? Isn't that the club's right to seek legal help?

Glad this didn't happen, but I can't understand how a club issue would expel a whole nation from the World Cup
