“…The American contingent to the World Cup draw will be led by the federation president, Sunil Gulati, and will include the men’s national team coach, Bob Bradley; the federation general secretary, Dan Flynn; the M.L.S. commissioner Don Garber; the executive director of the U.S. bid committee for the 2018 and 2022 World Cup, David Downs; and several members of the federation’s support staff.” NY Times

Charlize Theron, South Africa’s most glamorous export, is being flown home to bring much-needed Hollywood glitz to the troubled preparations for the 2010 World Cup.  The Oscar-winning actress heads an A-list of celebrities, including David Beckham, who are flying in to Cape Town to showcase the important draw on Friday that will determine the cup’s group stage.

…Friday’s draw itself remains subject to much speculation and Fifa will not announce how they will seed the 32 qualifiers for the draw until last the moment.” Telegraph UK
