While he’ll go down in United folklore with his game winning goal against Aston Villa last season on his full team debut, it’s been Federico Macheda’s continued development that’s earned the 18 year old a new four year deal.

Manchester United striker Federico Macheda has agreed a new contract with the club, signing a four-year deal which will extend his stay at Old Trafford until June 2014.
The Italian, who shot to fame when he scored the winning goal against Aston Villa on his Premier League debut last April, said he was delighted to sign the new deal. “I am very happy to commit my future to United. I really enjoyed myself last season when I came on and I hope to get more chances like that and contribute to the team’s success,” he said.
The United manager, Sir Alex Ferguson, added: “We are delighted by the new four-year deal, everyone at the club recognises the fantastic talent he has and we hope to see that develop in the next few years, so he becomes a well-rounded player”
