This is crazy:
In Rio de Janeiro, thieves stole nearly $6 million from a cash delivery firm by using the distracting powers of soccer. The culprits rented a house near the firm’s headquarters and proceeded to dig a 100 yard tunnel underneath the buildings.
They then waited for the local side Flamengo’s match at the Maracanã. With the entire city engrossed in watching the outcome of the match, the thieves seized the opportunity to blow through the floor and make off with the money.
A security guard working at the firm on Sunday reported hearing loud noises but thought they were from fireworks lit by excited soccer fans, the Globo news network’s web site reported Sao Paulo police as saying.
