Former MLS alumni Leonel Alvarez became the 10th coach in Colombian history to debut as a head coach with a championship.

Leo is a pretty amazing dude and what he has been able to accomplish in 6 months is historical and something that will be talked about in this city for decades as he gave Independiente Medellín its 5th star. What’s even more amazing is that Leo is respected by all, even his current team’s arch rivals who he, once gave a Copa Libertadores title. No matter if you bleed green or red, you love Leo.
