
Mexico Head Coach Javier Aguirre has finally released his roster for the upcoming International Friendly against Iceland in Charlotte, N.C. on Wednesday and included among the 18 man roster was Chivas de Guadalajara’s Adolfo “Bofo” Bautista, marking the first time the 30 year old had gotten a call up in the last two years.

Bautista last played for El Tri on March 26, 2008 in a 2-1 win over Ghana in England. The match was Hugo Sanchez’s final game in charge of the Mexican national team. Bautista had not been called up by predecessors Jesus Ramirez and Sven-Goran Eriksson, and Aguirre had not called on him at all during qualifying or the Gold Cup last year.
Bautista is one of four Chivas players on the roster. However, young scoring sensation Javier Hernandez is not among them. The other three are ‘keeper Luis Ernesto Michel, defender Jonny Magallon and midfielder/forward Alberto Medina.
