Cameroonian football player Samuel Eto’o (C) poses July 20, 2010 with a team made-up of local community members at the Nanyuki Munucipal stadium, in Laikipia, about 300kms north-east of Nairobi. Eto’o heads a community football initiative to promote peace among Kenyan tribes. Eto’o is the ambassador for Zeitz foundation which seeks to create and support sustainable, socially and ecologically responsible projects in destinations around the world.
The Laikipia and Beyond Unity Cup is an invitational event, conceived by the Zeitz Foundation and organized with the Laikipia Wildlife Forum.
FYI, Eto’o is the patron for the Laikipia Unity and Beyond Cup that saw a total of thirty-two teams compete at four events with each region selecting the best players from the eight teams to form a combined team to represent the region in the finals.
