Carlos Tevez expresses feeling that he might quit international football

Today, someone stuck a microphone in front of Carlos Tevez, and he definitely made some news that is travelling around the world and blogosphere. He said a lot of things, but what he said about continuing to play for Argentina and his role on his national team are what stuck out in everyone’s mind. In his own words:

“Every day, I feel further away from the national team and I don’t know if I’ll go to the 2014 World Cup.”

“I’m tired. Tired of always being here, of fighting to be in the team. There comes a time when your body starts to drag you down.

“The physical side doesn’t help. I’m not here so I can get kicked and have to get up and continue for 90 minutes.

“I am at a club in which I have not won a lot and we have not won anything, but even when I was winning everything and I was a big player, I still had to fight with the national team.

“Today I have to keep on fighting and it gives me cause to stop and think about not playing (for Argentina) anymore.

“It’s something I think about and I will do it one day, but it is easier to say it than to do it.

“I don’t know if I have the balls to do it. I won’t lie. I’m here more for the people and my family than for me.”
