Leo Messi needed to be carted off the Camp Nou’s pitch against Benfica this evening. The Argentine forward left the pitch on 84 minutes with a contusion on the outside of his left knee after colliding with Benfica’s keeper, Artur.

The player will undergo further tests to determine the extent of the injury.
