‘We won’t rule anything out. The only thing that counts is that the player is happy and can continue playing at a high level. A champion of Lampard’s calibre deserves the biggest stage. Serie A? Why not? Only time will tell if Lazio could be the ideal destination.’
“According to reports” Frank Lampard will be leaving Chelsea FC and is linked to a move to Serie A side Lazio. Earlier today, when his agent Steve Kutner was quizzed by the Italian media, Cittaceleste.it, on the possibility of Lampard heading to Italy at some point this summer, he is quoted that the ex-West Ham man will definitely be leaving Chelsea when his contract expires and talked up the possibility of a move to Italy.
‘At this moment, Lampard is exclusively thinking about the present, in other words Chelsea,’ says Kutner. ‘As for the future, the only certainty is that he will change team at the end of the season. Frank wants to pay for a great side, capable of challenging for important targets and where he could win more trophies.
But then … as things started heating up and happening as they do in this new media world, the agent started to backtrack and denied that he even gave the interview…. wait, whaaa?
According to ESPN in the UK, the agent told BBC 5Live radio station that he hasn’t spoken to anybody about Lampard’s future and hasn’t given any interviews about it.
The one thing we do know is that the England midfielder has not been offered a new contract, so we’ll see how this all plays out in a couple of months.
