So I’m doing some research for an upcoming project when I see the words “floating stadium” appear on my computer screen. One, you don’t see those words appear together very often. Two, that sounds awesome. So I immediately change my Google game to “floating Stadium in Singapore” and I am blessed with this incredible soccer stadium (it’s used for other things too, but for the interest of this guy, let’s stick to floating soccer stadium).

First, I would like to go on record and say I am disappointed in myself for not knowing about this stadium sooner. And, if you are a friend of mine, and you knew about this stadium and didn’t tell me, I’m also disappointed in you.

A few fun facts about the floating stadium.

1. It’s known as The Float at Marina Bay.
2. It opened in 2007
3. Capacity is 30,000
4. The platform consists of 15 pontoons that are connected like a jigsaw puzzle
5. It can hold over 1,000 tonnes, or more than 9,000 people
6. This is a temporary stadium (wait, what?!)
7. It f@&%*ng floats!

OK, so I have an idea. Let me know who’s in and we will try our best to make this happen. Let’s get a company that has some deep pockets and likes to have a good time. Let’s organize a game at the stadium (I NEED to play on this field). Maybe it has some celebrities. Maybe it has some former and or current pros. Let’s get some fireworks (they are needed at something like this). Let’s bring in some models. Let’s book some ridiculously expensive DJ and let’s put on a soccer game/globally cultural event on a soccer field that floats. We can stream it to millions world wide to ensure whoever sponsors this epic event gets plenty of value for their money.I’m pretty sure we could make something like this trend and get mad media coverage.

As soon as the game is over, we head to the 55th floor at the Marina Bay Sands and keep the party going at the infinity pool. Maybe we get the Red Bull Sky Diving Team to make an appearance by landing in the pool. There should be people doing fire juggling. A huge laser show. Maybe Jay or Kanye can perform a song or two. More models. The Dos Equis guy. The T-Mobile chick and her motorcycle. Lionel Messi and his polka dot tuxedo. Maradona would have to be there. Balotelli in an all camo outfit. You get the idea. This could be like a James Bond movie for the soccer community. And just to help keep things in check, the stadium and the hotel are both on Marina Bay so it actually makes sense! Given that they are so close, we can shave a few dollars off the budget for transportation.

If anyone out there knows of any deep pocketed individuals or companies that would like to help make this dream come true for me, please put them in touch with me. The world will be a better place for putting on an event like this…
