* I’m a huge fan of David Beckham and I’m actually a pretty big fan of Joey Barton too. Beck’s obviously rarely makes a wrong move in the spotlight, looks like a million bucks all the time and Joey Barton seems to never get it right. They are basically total opposites, publicly at least, even though if I did some investigating, we’d probably realize that they are very similar over the course of their lives, at least in the beginning.

This Barton guy makes some missteps, obviously, but whenever you listen to him, he actually makes some decent point here about David Beckham. I’m still trying to decide if this is a sneak diss or not.

“Paris have a number of star players, you know, a number of big-name players that we all know about… and, you know, as big as a star as Beckham is off the pitch, you know he is one of the ones that realistically don’t put the fear of god into you anymore, you know, like he used to when he played in the Premier League.”

After saying that, he also says some pretty interesting things about Marseilles v. PSG as well.

“….You know, no disrespect to him, you know, if he does manage to play for Paris, will not be probably be the main concern for us as a defensive unit. As I say Paris have got some wonderfully gifted players and I think, you know, it would be naive to focus that on David Beckham.”

* I love whenever someone says something like, “no disrespect….” it always feels like they are about to say something disrespectful. This wasnt that bad though. The guy has a point.
