Chelsea, dominating possession early on, sees Fernando Torres win an penalty against a bad decision from Hull City’s keeper McGregor… unfortunately, Frank Lampard was not able to convert due to a great save from McGregor, making up for a the mess he made for himself. Moments later, Chelsea were awarded a free kick from distance on a questionable call, which Frank Lampard converted in wonderful fashion.
It was seemingly a little out of Lampard’s range, but we should have known better. He finds the back of the net off of wonderful manipulation of the ball, scoring a goal for the 8th time in a season opening match. That ties a premier league record.
Take a look at both efforts after the jump…..
