~~ Been interesting to watch the reaction of the press and fans here in the United States over Bob Bradley’s decision to take the Stabæk job in Norway… My take – Bob can ALWAYS come back to MLS. That’s no shot across the bow of Major League Soccer. Dude has proven himself with multiple teams in the league and now has been in charge of TWO National Teams with the United States and Egypt. Why come back now? Why not continue to challenge himself in both coaching and in a lifestyle that virtually none have experienced at that level?
If you’ve played for Bob, you know that he’s one of the most prepared coaches many have come across. Sessions and tactics are some of the best. If you’re on the outside looking in, I can see how he’d be misunderstood in situations. But what it really comes down to is that he’s thoughtful with his answers and how his comments have massive impacts on the team, the fan base and the country.
When I watched this video, I was incredibly impressed with how he tied in the fan base and the culture of the club from his opening statements. Interested to see if he brings anyone in from the States to be on his staff or he inherits what’s already there.
Oh, and by the way… Bob is pushing the boundaries of coaching in Europe for the next generation of American / MLS Coaches.
