FIFA Rankings :: Germany is 1, USMNT is 27 and World’s WORST Football team is no longer Bhutan

Bhutan jumps 46 places above in the latest FIFA ranking updated on 9th April. How's that for the "Basement Boys" to climb straight up to 163, sitting right between Singapore (162) and Malaysia (164).

The latest version of the FIFA Coca-Cola World Rankings dropped today and there was little to no movement up top, some jockeying for position in the teens and above, but the most impressive move in the game was what happened at the bottom of the table.

The basement boys aka the Bhutan National Football Team previously known as the worst football team in the world jumped up 46 places, from 209th to 163rd, after a couple of wins against Sri Lanka in World Cup Qualifying play last month.

Anguilla is now the 209th ranked team. Which, by the way, I don’t think Anguilla is reeeeeally concerned with. If you wonder what I mean, just google image search Anguilla. There seems to be a lot of ways to spend your time not playing football.

The top 10 is who you think it is with not much change. 1. Germany 2. Argentina 3. Belgium 4. Colombia 5. Brazil

France and Italy fall out of the top 10 to 11th and 13th respectively, with Switzerland and Spain replacing them in top 10 at 9th and 10th. Netherland, Portugal and Uruguay round out the 10.

England is 14. Costa Rica is 15. Mexico is 18 and the United States is 27th.

* I like this Bhutan situation… there might be more on this later.
