I noticed something last month during the Women’s World Cup.
Several of the United States Women had posted on the gram about a new book that they were reading.
The book is called, “If You Feel Too Much: Thoughts on Things Found and Lost and Hoped For”
It is written by a guy called Jamie Tworkowski, founder of To Write Love On Her Arm (TWLOHA), a nonprofit movement dedicated to presenting hope and finding help for people struggling with depression, addiction, self-injury, and suicide.
TWLOHA exists to encourage, inform, inspire, and invest directly into treatment and recovery.
TWLOHA started a movement, and this book from the founder is an extension of that movement, as is a feature length movie based on the TWLOHA story.
The trailer for the movie is below, but after watching the trailer, check out this really cool interview that the author did where he covers a ton of stuff including how it came to be, some of his own personal struggles and some of his hopes related to the book.
Here are some of your favorite WNT’ers in support of this book and movement.
If You Feel Too Much is available now at most book retailers, and the hardcover is on Amazon right now for 10 bucks.
I need to get my hands on a copy of this one..
Sony Pictures has released the To Write Love on Her Arms film starring Kat Dennings, Chad Michael Murray, Rupert Friend & Corbin Bleu; get your google on to see when and where it is playing near you!
Since its start in 2006, they have donated over $1.5 million directly into treatment and recovery and have answered over 180,000 emails from over 100 countries. TWLOHA has one of the largest online audiences of any non-profit on social media, and has been featured on NBC Nightly news with Brian Williams, CBS Sunday Morning, CNN.com, Rolling Stone, and founder Jamie Tworkowski has won an MTVU Woodie Award. In recent years, TWLOHA was awarded a $1 million grant from Chase at the first-ever American Giving Awards (AGAs) announced on NBC.
