FORBES Magazine just released their annual 30 Under 30 list, where they showcase “the most definitive gathering of today’s leading young change-makers and innovators in the U.S.”
Originally, the list was just an overall 30 and pretty much focused on people in the tech space, but over the years Forbes has expanded their list and separated it into categories like “Arts”, “Tech”, “Music”, “Sports”, etc. Not a ton of soccer players make the list, and of course you’ve seen the Neymar and Messi types on this list as young change-makers, but this year there were some new names.
The overall list is great to check out as there are 20 different categories with 20 individuals totaling 600 participants, so its well worth your time, but for our purposes we like seeing some footy players.
This year, FC kansas City and USWNT forward Sydney Leroux and Bayer Leverkusen / Mexican NT forward Javier hernandez made the cut.
Leroux won a gold medal at the 2012 London Olympics and is a 2015 Women’s World Cup Champion. She has a partnership with Nike, nestle, EA Sports and Body Armour.
A member of the Mexican National Team since 2009, “Chicharito” is closing in on the record for the nations most dangerous scorer. He has gone on to win MVP honors in the 2011 CONCACAF tournament, the “World goalgetter” award, and was on the cover of EA’s Fifa ’14.
