Ahead of today’s Champions League encounter between Barcelona and Bayern Munich, Gatorade gives us a little insight into what makes Barca so good. And apparently it is the “rondo.”
The style of FC Barcelona is both utterly distinct and deeply embedded in the identity of the club — the heart of its game rooted in the precision clockwork brought forth by the players.
Here historian Ángel Iturriaga explains how a simple exercise called the rondo translates to some of the most beautiful and complex football the world has ever seen.

That all sounds simple enough. Knock the ball around the center circle and get a better understanding of time, space and a great first touch. Create a system that is based on triangles and ensures there is always an open player. Makes complete sense. If only it was that easy…
~~ Devastating news trickling out over the past couple of days with former England International Rio Ferdinand losing his wife Rebecca to Breast Cancer….
‘My soul mate slipped away last night. Rebecca, my wonderful wife, passed away peacefully after a short battle with cancer at the Royal Marsden Hospital in London.
She was a fantastic loving mother to our three beautiful children. She will be missed as a wife, sister, aunt, daughter and granddaughter. She will live on in our memory, as a guide and inspiration.
Myself, my parents Janice and Julian, along with Rebecca’s parents Lesley and Stephen, would like to thank our families, friends and my club colleagues who have rallied around in these desperate days, weeks and months.
I would also like to express my gratitude for the dedication and expertise of the staff led by Professors Johnstone and Clarke at the Royal Marsden. Their valiant efforts to prolong Rebecca’s all-too-short life will not be forgotten.
Our grief, as a family, is total. We would appreciate being allowed to mourn privately.’

Just over the weekend, at his pre-match press conference, Brendan Rodgers was asked about plans for Daniel Sturridge to receive treatment in the United States to which he gave an account of what was going to go down.
Rodgers said: “We have found some underlying issues that maybe relate to Dan’s issues and problems that he’s had this season, and the ongoing problems that he’s had.
“The staff and medical team here are liaising with some of the great medics in America and we’re just doing everything we possibly can to give Daniel the opportunity to remain fit and consistent and available.
“We’ll see how it goes between now and the end of the season, but it was something that we decided was going to be best for him to give him every chance to be consistently fit.
Well, about an hour or so ago, Sturridge posted this picture to the gram. Apparently surgery went swimmingly. Reportedly, the recovery time for this sort of hip surgery is about 4 to 6 weeks, so, he is out of the mix for the rest of the Premier League obvi.
