I was messing around looking at some old vintage soccer cleats when I came across these babies. In all my time of looking at soccer cleats online, how have these beauties escaped me? NASL branded, red trim on the upper with the cream bottoms, number on the toungue, AND, they look mad comfy! These would be fresh to add to the collection.
When I was coming up, adidas was the company I associated with soccer more than anything else. Be it Copa’s, Gazelles, Sambas, the Tango ball or some very old school US uniforms, adidas was soccer to me. I didn’t know anything aboput the company, I didn’t need to, they spoke to me on a sporting level.
This year marks the 60th anniversary for the brand, anf today markes 60 years to the day that Adi Dassler registered his company, adidas. Amazing how far a brand can come from such humble beginnings and become synonmous with sporting greatness. Here’s to you Mr. Dassler.
We’ve mentioned it on here before, but take the time to check out the book Sneaker Wars. It talks about how the Dassler brothers split, and how that split ended up giving us adidas and Puma! Crazy!. Great book and definitely worth the read.

Real Madrid and adidas athlete Kaka was on hand at the Sofitel Hotel in Washington, D.C. on Saturday to meet local youth players and answer questions. adidas hosted an “ASK KAKA” event where 11 lucky D.C.-area kids were selected to ask Kaka a question in person. Real Madrid takes on D.C. United in a friendly match at FedEx Field on Sunday at 3 p.m. ET.
