News out of the UK is that Miss England Rachel Christie has given up her crown after being arrested on suspicion of a nightclub assault!!
Organizers of Miss England said the 21-year-old wanted to concentrate on clearing her name. She allegedly punched Miss Manchester, Sara Beverley Jones, 24, in the face in a dispute at a Manchester nightclub.
Ms Christie, the first black woman to be crowned Miss England, was arrested on suspicion of assault and has been bailed until January 2010. The beauty queen, niece of former sprinter Linford Christie, is also a heptathlete hoping to compete in the 2012 Olympics.
NEILSVILLE, Wis. — The call came into the 911 dispatcher: “I don’t want to hurt anybody. I’m drunk.” And with that, Mary Strey, 49, of Granton, reported herself as a drunken driver about three miles northeast of Neilsville in central Wisconsin.

Wigan striker Marlon King has been jailed for 18 months after being found guilty of groping a young woman in a nightclub and then breaking her nose when she spurned his “disgusting” advances, with the Premier League club confirming they will now sack the player.
King, who was celebrating both his wife’s pregnancy and scoring a winning goal hours earlier, was repeatedly “cold-shouldered” by women revellers in London’s packed Soho Revue Bar last December. (more…)
Osbourne, 21, was arrested at Villa’s Bodymoor Heath facility on Friday and has been bailed pending further enquiries, according to West Midlands Police. A spokesman for the force said: “On October 2, a 21-year-old man was arrested at the Villa training ground on suspicion of conspiracy to rob and he has been bailed until further enquiries.” (more…)
