Barton Heading To Court For Dabo Attack

DOUBLE UPDATE - Because he pleaded guilty yesterday, Judge Mushtaq Khokhar handed Barton a four month SUSPENDED sentence and ordered the as-of-now Newcastle midfielder to carry out an unspecified amount of community service.

Wonder if Dabo is going to go after Barton’s wallet just a bit more considering the injustice he’s probably feeling today?

UPDATE - Joey Barton has pleaded GUILTY to one count of causing bodily harm in the May 2007 incident and will be formally charged Tuesday morning after placing the plea just before the trial started.

Barton is already serving a six month sentence (which started in May 0f 2008) after pleading guilty to charges of assault and affray over an incident in McDonald’s in Liverpool back in December of 2007.

With the guilty plea placed you know Dabo will go after punitive damages, which he fully deserves.

I’ve seen plenty of fights during practice, some of which spill over into everyday life but for this to hit the courtroom is a bit surprising. It’s good to see that they’re are consequences for players and their actions.

Ousmane Dabo

Game time on Monday as Joey Barton is heading to court over last year’s assault of former Manchester City teammate Ousmane Dabo.

Former Man City coach Stuart Pearce and former defender Sylvain Distin are also expected to testify at the Manchester Crown Court over the training field incident that took place just over 13 months ago.

Will Barton be able to stay out of trouble this year after a so-so Newcastle campaign that already saw the northeast club threaten his wages?

Oswaldo Sanchez Arrested In Chicago

Oswaldo Sanchez

Mexican National Team Star Oswaldo Sanchez was arrested Sunday morning in Chicago and charged with misdemeanor counts of criminal trespass and resisting arrest the morning after Mexico’s 4-nil drubbing of Peru at Soldier Field.

Police were called to the downtown Westin Hotel for a disturbance due to guests complaints about a loud party. Sanchez was reportedly arrested for not leaving the premises despite being told to do so multiple times by police.

You’ve really got to wonder what kind of fallout will be felt on this one. With the Mexican National Team playing friendlies and qualifiers in the United States so often and throw in multiple Mexican club participation in SuperLiga and Champions Cup, this is one outcome you’re definitely going to want to keep an eye on.

I’d Like To Sue the Police Your Honor

UPDATEHarry Redknapp will be rolling around town with 1,000 more Euros today than he had yesterday after the High Court determined that the raid conducted on his home while he was away was “unlawful”.

Good for Harry, but it’s not like he needs the cash.  More about the principality!

Harry Redknapp

If you show up at Harry Redknapp’s home at 6am with the media and rustle his wife out of bed when he’s out of the country, beware. You might just have legal proceedings started against yourself by way of the Administrative Court at the High Courts of Justice in London.

Don’t mess with ol ‘Arry, even if you think he’s taken part in the Bung Scandal or shoddy Transfer Deals.

Ronaldo has finally done his first interview on GloboTV and offered his sincerest apologies for his regrettable mistake.
