Fabregas Named New Arsenal Captain

With the drama surrounding William Gallas and the future of the Arsenal Captains band, head coach Arsene Wenger has announced that midfielder Cesc Fabregas will continue to Captain the side as it takes on Dynamo Kiev Tuesday in their Champions League Group G match.

Ramsey Set For First Wales Cap

UPDATE - Arsenal’s Ramsey did get his first Cap during Wales’ 1 - 0 win over Denmark, but it was Craig Bellamy that got his name on the scorers sheet in the 77th minute.

The 17 year old wunderkid that Arsenal paid 5 Million Pound to Cardiff City for in the summer is set for his first cap with Wales as manager John Toshack’s side has been hit with injuries and squad withdrawals ahead of their Friendly in Brondby against Denmark.

And while Aaron Ramsey was on the bench during Wales’ 2 - 0 loss to Holland in Rotterdam last month, this time looks to be completely different with Ramsey possibly getting the go ahead from the start.

The floodlights, corporate boxes and big screens at sports stadiums are all massive power sappers - but there’s an increasingly popular technology which is chewing more energy than ever before. The culprits are giant lighting rigs creating a significant carbon footprint.

So, who’s using the most power? English Premier League football superpower Arsenal could have one of the worst carbon footprints in the region as its home ground is believed to use the biggest set of lighting rigs in the United Kingdom.

Another Surgery For Rosicky

After injuring a tendon in his left knee during the January 26th FA Cup match against Newcastle that Arsene Wenger initially described as “not a serious one, but a strange one” and having not recovered from his initial surgery in May while missing out on Euro 2008, Arsenal and Czech Republic midfielder Tomas Rosicky has undergone another surgery in Germany.
