Arsenal set to sign 15 year old American Luis Gil

Arsenal are set to complete the signing of American starlet Luis Gil according to a report on Arsenal’s Young Guns website.

The 15-year old will become the latest US talent to sign with a European club, following Freddy Adu (Benfica) and Anton Peterlin (Everton).

The Gunners have been monitoring Gil for some time and began their pursuit of him in May when he was invited to train with the club.

It is believed that he will sign with the Arsenal Academy within a few weeks.

The Arsenal boss, preparing for Tuesday night’s Champions League Play-off showdown with Celtic at Parkhead, believes some clubs will soon become frustrated with the level of financial rewards on offer in Europe’s leading club competition and will look for a way to start a breakaway league. Arsenal’s Cesc Fabregas holds up a shirt in honour of Espanyol captain Daniel Jarque during their EPL match against Everton at Goodison Park.   The Espanyol captain recently died from a heart attack while on a pre-season training camp in Italy.
