Check out this Esquire interview with Awaydays author Kevin Sampson. Although Sampson says he hates the term “casuals,” the book has been noted as the most accurate book about the movement.
Awaydays was my first novel. I was 17 in 1979, a bit of a golden age in that I grew up watching football and following the greatest team in the world at that point. And from a fan point of view we were doing something different, something nobody else in the country was doing at that time. I always wanted to reflect that sort of thing, that chapter in popular culture and social history.

I’ll be honest, I don’t know anything about these limited edition adidas 1966 World Cup FG’s. Apparently they were a limited release or something, but I can’t find out nearly as much info on these as I would like. Please stop keeping secrets like these from me. Not cool.
I’ll be honest, I don’t know much about Mods. But I’m curious. They have a distinctive culture and aesthetic so I decided to cop a book about them. I haven’t gotten into it too much yet, but the photographs are pretty amazing, so I’m looking forward to what the book holds. If you have any interest in the Mod scene, check out the book as well. Find it here.

Showcasing 100 girls, to show how they “naturally see themselves and how they want to be seen - what you see is what you get.” With the support of adidas Originals, the book will be launched at the opening of an exhibition showcasing Women’s archive shoes from Adria Jeans from 1978 to an adidas Yohi Yamamoto show from 2001.
Pretty much everyone has seen an excerpt or two from Grant Wahl’s upcoming “Beckham Experiment” that’s conveniently set to drop / sell on July 14th, but Grahame Jones of the LA Times got Landon Donovan to open up for the first time since the quotes hit the internet a week or so ago.
