adidas’ Sieben and Friends

sieben-and-freiends

adidas Originals and their Celebrate Originality have been coming strong lately with their video and web campaigns.  This latest web film, created by Juice Design is no different. For one of the world’s biggest sports brands to encourage originality like this makes me smile. So often big companies lose some of that creativity and originality that helped get them where they are.  Click here to check out the full length video.

Oh, and on a side note, I need my closet looking like the one in the video…

bmw-never-stand-still

BMW is one of those companies that always does things their way. To unveil the latest version of their 7 Series, they built a huge hourglass smack in the middle of Red Square in Moscow. After 180,000 silver balls passed through the hour glass, the all new, Euro version of the 7 Series was revealed. Quite a concept. Peep the video after the jump.

Grün Guerrilla Gardening

Filed under: Ads, Brands, Videos, adidas

Adidas and 180 Amsterdam always do some great work together. The Adi Dassler workshop and Left Coast Right Coast are two examples of some of the work they have done together. Now we present you with Grün Guerrilla Gardening. I always like it when I see people stop complaining about things and actually do something about it. I don’t think this video is brand new, but it’s another solid campaign by Adidas and 180 Amsterdam.

New Era x Zune

Filed under: Brands, New Era, Parties, Zune

new-era

I ended up at the Zune house last night in Hollywood for the New Era x Zune event with Ray and J Dubb from Five Four. The event was definitely cool, the crowd was eclectic (Lindsay Lohan, Tyga, etc)  and the partnership between these two brands looks like it is going to be a positive one. As for the Zune house, it was pretty incredible. Allegedly Microsoft has rented the space for a few years to throw events such as this one. I don’t know what it looked like before, but it is a perfect spot to throw parties and events and I am looking forward to the concerts that get thrown in there.

Nike vs adidas - Euro 2008

Filed under: Brands, Nike, Spain, adidas

nike-v-adidas

There is an interesting story over on Divinity Metrics which looks at Euro 2008 and compares who really won between Nike and adidas. It says that even though both teams in the finals were adidas sponsored, that nike came out as the winner because of the individual players on the Spanish team sponored by Nike.Add in the fact that Portugal, even though they got knocked out, are a Nike sponsored team, as is CRon7. With so much on the line for the two sporting giants, tournaments like Euro 2008 are hugely important for both brands. If you had to take a guess, who would you say was the big winner?

Check out a pretty interesting Nike ad after the jump

I’m a big fan of Johnny cupcakes. This beantown based designer has built a brand and a cult following…and most importantly he has done it his way. It has been no secret that Johnny Cupcakes has been working on opening his LA store, and now there is finally a date for the opening. Click here to check out the video about his LA store to get an idea of how amazing this store is going to be, and for a bit of an inside look into the mind of Johnny Cupcakes.
