The crew over at Thrillist gave us a much appreciated shout on our latest Limited Edition shirt, A View From The Shed End.
We’ve made quite a few references to the latest Limited Edition T-Shirt we have been preparing to release and as many of you know, the graphic is inspired by the soccer and punk scenes of London in the late 1970’s. We have always wanted to do something based on this time, but we wanted to make sure that we got it right before putting it out there.
When we first started talking with collaboration partner Nick Egan, we always came back to the punk scene that he was heavily into and how he would go to Stamford Bridge to watch Chelsea games. Nick would go into detail about the areas in the stadium that the “punks” would stand in, the importance of the Shed End and the overall feeling that was sweeping London at that time. Even stories when he was working with bands like The Clash and how they would leave the recording studio in the middle of a session to head over to an abandoned playground to knock the ball around, while making executives from the record label join in with them.
And in the end we tried to capture those vibes and the true essence of that time within this graphic.
The artwork depicts the classic silhouette of a punk standing in the Shed End of Stamford Bridge, set against the backdrop of the rest of the terrace. And while this graphic is somewhat abstract, we wanted to incorporate the two cultures in as natural a setting as possible while leaving something to the imagination.
Below, a Limited Edition woven label that we added to the corner of the shirt.
Along with the shirt, we are also including a Poster of the graphic that features a quote from Chris Sullivan (who was co-author of the book “Punk”, party promoter / club owner in London and a soccer fan that happens to be one of Nick’s very good friends).
“Punk should be remembered if only to illustrate how influential a small group of people can be.”
That quote stuck with us because it reminded us how influential soccer fans can be due to our love and passion for the game, while giving this collaboration the final “tip of the hat” to the soccer / punk theme.
We hope you enjoy the shirt and the poster as much as we enjoyed putting it all together.

We take a lot of pictures in our daily lives. They represent experiences and events that we somehow manage to finagle ourselves into on a pretty consistent basis. Some are soccer related, some have seemingly little to do with the sport, but they all have something to do with the lifestyle that we live. I’ve been getting more and more requests to share more pictures, so I figured it’s a good time to start posting more on here. Some might seem pretty obscure or incredibly random, but so is a majority of my life…so that kind of works.
Just a reminder that we are releasing a new limited edition Bumpy Pitch t-shirt tomorrow. We are really happy with how this shirt turned out and excited about continuing to show the lifestyle and culture of the sport. This one is inspired heavily by soccer, music, youth culture and aims to capture a specific moment in time. Keep an eye out for when this shirt drops tomorrow.
I just found this picture of our boy Gilles rocking the new Bumpy Pitch shirt we are releasing tomorrow. Pic via his Twitter page. As always, thanks for the support! We appreciate it!
Peep Aaron York repping the San Francisco Gales alongside his brother Jeremy York outside the Rose Bowl during Zlatan’s last game in an Inter Milan uniform. Much appreciated man….
We’ve made a couple of references to an upcoming limited edition shirt we are getting set to release. We figured now was a good time to let you know a little more info on the shirt and when it will be released.
The shirt is inspired by the punk and soccer scenes of the late 1970’s / early 80’s in London. Both had huge impacts on the youth culture of the time, and they continue to be today. We were lucky enough to work with an artist, Nick Egan, that was a fixture of the punk and soccer scenes of this time period. As an artist, Nick has worked with bands such as The Clash, the Sex Pistols, The Psychedelic Furs, The Cult and The New York Dolls. He has also worked with Vivienne Westwood and Malcolm McLaren, so his credibility with the scene runs heavy. Nick is also a lifelong soccer fan, so this collaboration worked perfectly.
The graphic depicts the silhouette of a classic looking punk rocker set inside the Shed End at Stamford Bridge. Nick is a lifelong Chelsea fan and he used to sit in the Shed End with other “punks” and watch Chelsea matches in the 70’s and 80’s.
The idea was to show how these two dynamic cultures influenced one another. It’s our interpretation of how music, soccer and a specific time and location all contribute to youth culture and how they can influence an entire generation.
This shirt features some new features that we have added to the shirt and there is an added item that will be a part of this release. The shirt releases next Tuesday, July 28th.
Before heading to the Rose Bowl on Tuesday night to check Chelsea vs Inter Milan out first hand, the BP_TOW crew headed up the coast to Northern California to check out Club America vs Inter Milan at Stanford Stadium on Sunday.
