For all you Californians, know that you can never be that guy anymore. Today the Governator outlawed all forms of text messaging while driving in California. I think if you pick up a phone while driving you car in CA you will now get a ticket. From the LA Times:

Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger this afternoon outlawed text-messaging while driving.

He signed legislation banning drivers from sending, writing or reading messages on electronic devices starting in January.

The bill, SB 28 by Sen. Joe Simitian (D-Palo Alto), imposes a $20 fine for a first offense and $50 fine for each subsequent violation.

Crazy! I mean, we knew it was coming because even though they made talking on the phone illegal a couple of months ago, that didn’t stop me from pounding away a text message at 11p while I’m pumping about 80 mphs coming up the 101 fwy. The question is, who is the company that is working on voice recognition text messaging right now, because I would like to invest my life savings. It may be starting in California but this is going to be nationwide soon enough I’m sure. Anyways, be safe out there and be advised.

This just really made my day! Ex-F1 driver Riccardo Patrese takes his missus out on the track for a spin and she clearly is not happy about his driving. I don’t speak Italian, but I think she makes her point.

Looks like Cristiano picked himself a new toy…not a bad look for the Portuguese winger. Apparently Cristiano likes his rides.

That fine institute of journalism, the News of the World, calculates that the Portuguese winger has spent £2 million on cars since joining United five years ago. Last month he splashed £350,000 on a Rolls Royce Phantom, and then spent a further £150,000 on a personalised CR7 number plate for it. His garage has also included two Porsche Cayennes, a BMW M6, Porsche 911, Ferrari F430 and a Bentley Continental GTC - formerly C-Ron’s runaround and now for sale in a Bolton showroom for £99,995 since the upgrade to the GT Speed.

This is the most exclusive, most expensive, and most legendary Lamborghini to come out of the Lamborghini Factory in Sant’ Agata Italy. The video shows every square inch of the car, interior, exterior, engine, wheels, etc. This car is selling for $2.5 Millions USD at Silicon Valley Auto Group in Northern California. 10 out of 20 reside in the U.S.A.

Last fall BMW kaiser Norbert Reithofer confirmed that they would be releasing a “Gran Turismo.” Apparently the Gran Turismo is based on the 7 Series, but will be positioned in a higher category. I’m a big BMW fan, and these pictures might be some of the illest I have seen of any car in a minute. Looks like these are going into production for 2009.
