Celtic failed to gain closure on 25 years of hurt as they were held 1-1 by old foes Rapid Vienna in their Europa League clash at Parkhead. The home side were shocked to lose a goal to Rapid striker Nikica Jelavic after only three minutes but recovered to level in the 20th minute through Scott McDonald. However, the visitors were worth their point in a decent match between two evenly-matched sides.

The Champions League is set to return with a very important first game that see Arsenal heading north to Glasgow. One of these massive clubs will be missing out in the all important group stages this year. It will be a huge blow for whichever club doesn’t go through. Losing can possibly have negative effects on that club for the rest of the season. Let the games begin.

After winning the SPL three years in a row, Gordon Strachan has resigned from Celtic after failing to win the league again.  Can’t imagine this dude will be out of a job long, should he decide to jump back in right away.

Celtic chief executive Peter Lawwell claims he would not be doing his job if he did not give “serious consideration” to the possibility of joining a revamped English Premier League.
