Dirk Kuyt was the hero at Anfield today for Liverpool, although I’m sure people were expecting more from the Reds in this one.  But, three points nevertheless.

I was honestly hoping for a more exciting game…point on the road for Barca though.

The Champions League continues today with plenty of big matches taking place, but none are bigger or possibly as interesting as the Inter Milan v Barcelona game. With Eto’o and Zlatan switching sides, plus the fact that both of these teams could win the whole thing this year, this is a very interesting way to kick off the group stages. Add on top of that the news that came out recently that said Jose Mourinho held secret talks with Barcelona about being the Barca manager, but that he wouldn’t agree to their terms of dealing with the media so they went with Pep Guardiola, and this takes on an even more interesting angle.

Scholes gets sent off over the weekend, then bags the winner against Besiktas away in Turkey. Giggs comes up big with a goal over the weekend, Scholes with a huge goal today and Gary Neville captaining today’s team. The old guard are still getting it done for United.

Bayern Munich gets the away win that most people expected from them.

Anelka gets Chelsea off to a good start as he plays the hero against Porto.
