Carvalho Wants Talks With Chelsea About Future

Filed under: Chelsea, Jose Mourinho, Ricardo Carvalho, Rumors

Ricardo Carvalho

While Cristiano Ronaldo is holing up in the Portuguese camp, Ricardo Carvalho is an open book and letting everyone know his intentions.

Carvalho has publicly admitted his desire to reunite with his gaffer, Jose Mourinho at Inter Milan and has decided to hold talks with Chelsea’s Peter Kenyon over his future at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea paid 19.85 Million Pound to Porto for Carvalho’s services back in 2004 after winning the Champions League under Mourinho.

Ancelotti’s Advisors Agree To Numbers With Chelsea

Filed under: AC Milan, Carlos Ancelotti, Chelsea

UPDATE - Carlos Ancelotti is dismissing reports of a deal with Chelsea.

Looks like Ancelotti didn’t meet with Roman Abramovich yesterday in Paris, even though the coach has admitted he was in the city at the same time as the Russian Gajillionare.

Carlos Ancelotti

I’m sitting here watching the morning edition of SkySports News and they are confirming that Chelsea agree with Carlos Ancelotti’s advisors (agents) for terms to be the head coach.

Small Problem - AC Milan have not allowed Chelsea official communication with Ancelotti yet as they turned down requests to open discussion officially over the weekend.

Sooo… this one will be very, very interesting to watch.

Avram Grant Out Of Chelsea

Avram Grant

He’s done!

Chelsea have axed Avram Grant.

A statement read: “Chelsea Football Club can confirm that Avram Grant has had his contract as manager terminated. This follows meetings over the last two days.

“Everybody at Chelsea would like to thank Avram for his contribution since taking over as manager last September.

“We will now be concentrating all our efforts on identifying a new manager for Chelsea and there will be no further comment until that appointment is made.”

No word yet whether Ten Cate will go with him, but you’d think he has to go with all that’s gone on.

Rijkaard? Hiddink? Laudrup? Koeman?  Mancini?

You’d have to think Grant was doomed to fail the moment he was named gaffer at Chelsea, trying to follow a guy like Jose Mourinho.

Ashley Cole Injury In Run Through Session

Filed under: Ashley Cole, Chelsea, Claude Makelele

UPDATE - Here’s the video of that tackle on Ashley Cole.

Joe Cole Injury

What is it with all the injuries going on during Chelsea training sessions?

As if things couldn’t get any worse for Ashley Cole, a kick from Claude Makelele on his right ankle was enough to force the England left back out of training. He did try to return, but left before the session was over.

With 24 hours left before the 2008 Champions League Final vs Manchester United and a crack medical staff at your disposal, I say Ashley Cole is in the starting 11.

Wayne Bridge must have been doing somersaults for a quick minute.

Peter Cech’s X-Ray

Filed under: Chelsea, Injuries, Peter Cech

Ever wonder why Peter Cech is still wearing that black, puffy helmet?

It was this collision with Reading’s Stephen Hunt that put Chelsea keeper Peter Cech in the hospital where he underwent  emergency brain surgery.

Peter Cech’s X-Ray

This X-Ray is the first look at the devastation that occurred.  Between the shattered pieces of bone, metal plates inserted and memory loss, it’s amazing that the 26 year old Czech International is even on the field.

And don’t forget about his collision earlier this year with teammate Tal Ben Haim that required 50 stitches to his face.

Poor guy can barely catch a break.  Whoops!

Drogba and Terry Fit

Filed under: Champions League, Chelsea, Didier Drogba, John Terry

Champions League Balls

It took only two days for Didier Drogba to declare that he and John Terry would be fit for the Champions League Final in Moscow next Wednesday.

Drogba’s knee injury during the latter stages of Chelsea’s 1-1 draw with Bolton was a cause for concern while Terry had to leave the match with a dislocated elbow, but was seen on the pitch afterwards with his left arm in a sling.

Did anyone really think that either one of these players were going to miss the second biggest match in football?

Peter Cech Adidas Orange Away Kit

UPDATE - Peter Cech is supposedly going to wear this new Orange Away Kit for the Champions League Final because it supposedly is a proven fact that the color Orange will throw of the shooters focus.

Chelsea Away Kit

Take a look at the new Away Kit for Chelsea, 2008/09 edition. Looks like the boys are heading away from the glow in the dark yellow and have now gone Oranje.
