Columbus Crew At Chivas USA - Recap
Filed under: Chivas USA, Columbus Crew
Very, very good guy.
Andrea Canales over at Goal.com has a great in depth interview with Mexican legend and former Chivas USA midfielder Ramon Ramirez about the upcoming U.S. vs Mexico match, the growth of MLS and how it’s affecting the CONCACAF Region, who stands out on the American side and how the weather in Columbus will really affect the Mexican team.
I’ve known Ramon personally since the beginning of Chivas USA / Real Salt Lake expansion years and can honestly say that while I’ve been his opponent (I still laugh about getting into an on - field scrap with him up at Rice Eccles Stadium where I got kicked in the chest out of nowhere by an unnamed player during the hottest game I’ve ever played in) and his teammate (at Chivas USA during quite possibly the shortest time I was ever with a team (of the 86 teams I seemed to have played for)), Ramon and a couple of other Mexican Internationals like Paco Palencia and Claudio Suarez were the nicest, most determined, hardworking players (besides Jason Kreis and former Colombian International Leonel Alvarez) on and off the field that I ever had the chance to be around.
These are the type of players we need more of in this league, guys that have a certain honesty that comes along with them.
