Even TMZ picked this story up.

I personally have a big problem with people/fans running onto the field.  Not because they’re interrupting play, but because of the Safety Issues that are opened up with random people entering the field of play.

I know fans have to pass through security checks when entering MLS stadiums, but players safety ON THE FIELD should be one of the most important issues that security focuses on.

Some people might say that Chris Klein’s “protection” of David Beckham was over the top, but I’d argue that with the status that David has, Klein’s desire to protect his friend and teammate was much more important than his actions on the field Saturday night.

What if it had been worse?  Remember this incidence back in 1993?
